Job Description

Nurse Practitioner needed for Mental Health Outpatient Clinic.

***This is a permanent hire position. 

The Nurse Practitioner (NP), in collaboration with physicians, functions as a member of a treatment team to deliver direct patient care in the mental health outpatient clinic.  The NP ensures that all services comply with both internal and external standards established by regulatory agencies. The NP must practice in accordance with the rules adopted by the Ohio Board of Nursing, the Revised Code, and company policies and procedures.

Additional:

  1. Communicate and collaborate with to staff that have identified problematic/complicated cases.
  2. Address alerts within CareLogic in a timely manner.
  3. Attend Medical Services staff monthly meetings.
  4. Ensure utilization of Dr. First in daily practice.
  5. Ensure understanding of Evaluation and Management procedures as well as new CPT coding to ascertain proper billing for patients and appropriate financial billings.
  6. Participate in physician peer reviews as directed by Medical Director.
  7. Respond to failed activities in a timely manner.
  8. Attend all offered internal trainings on BH Redesign
  9. Provide appointments for hospital discharges within 2 weeks of discharge for patients from psychiatric units.

Job Requirements

JOB QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  1. Completion of undergraduate and graduate nursing education from an accredited school of nursing at the master’s or doctoral level.
  2. License to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Ohio.
  3. Ohio Certificate of authority as defined by the Ohio Board of Nursing (COA-NP).
  4. Certificate to prescribe in accordance with Sections 4723.48 through 4723.485, Ohio Revised Code, the rules of the Ohio Board of Nursing.
  5. National Certification as a Nurse Practitioner
  6. Current CPR certification
  7. Company Standard Care Arrangement executed within one month of hire.
  8. Training and experience in the types of services provided by the team, with age appropriate competency, using the Diagnostic and Statistical manual of Mental Disorders.
